This is a good example of why drain cleaning products are not a good solution for long term use of cleaning clogs from your pipes. If you have a slow moving drain, it’s clogged – it’s that simple. You’ll need to remove the blockage properly with a snaking device or water jet. Chasles Plumbing is equipped with both tools to better serve our customers.
The reality is that drain chemicals often sit in pipes for a while before they break down clogs. Often they don’t clear clogs completely and the drain cleaners simply begin to eat through the metallic pipes over time.
Pictured here is a bathtub drainage pipe that was hidden behind the ceiling drywall. Years ago, our client could not fix the leaking pipe so they lost the use of the bathtub.
